About Us
The Diego Rivera Gallery is a student-directed exhibition space for work by SFAI students. The gallery provides an opportunity for BFA, MFA and Post-Baccalaureate students to present their work in a gallery setting, to use the space for large-scale installations, or to experiment with artistic concepts and concerns in a public venue.
After applications for exhibitions are submitted, a jury of alumni selects the artists who will exhibit. Students may apply to have an individual show, to participate in a group show (three or more artists), or to curate a show. About 40 shows per year are scheduled and close to 200 students exhibit each year.
The gallery is open Monday - Sunday from 9 - 5 for exhibition and mural viewing.
Student exhibitions run weekly Monday through Saturday, 9 - 5pm. Opening receptions are on Tuesdays beginning with an artist talk at 4:30 and ending with a reception from 5-7pm.
